Types of light packaging you can give to selective collection
The following types of light packaging are acceptable for selective collection:
Plastic packaging.
Metal packaging: iron and aluminium cans, empty spray cans.
Drinks cartons.
Other light packaging. In general packaging marked with a green dot that is neither paper not glass (wooden containers, ceramic...).
The mains types of packaging are plastic bottles and pots (eg. for water, yoghurt...), cans for food and drinks, drinks cartons, metal lids, and polystyrene trays. This fraction has a density between 25 and 28 kg/m3.
You should not put out containers that are full, or other containers such as paint cans or for chemicals, which should be taken to a collection centre. Nor should you leave tyres, small household appliances or computer consumables containing ink.
