The dropping off of light packaging that has been rinsed and flattened makes the selective collection of packaging easier and can be done according to different collection models. In the collection process packaging cannot be subject to intense compacting (maximum 4:1 volume ratio or up to a maximum density of 120 kg/m3) as it is sent to sorting plants where is it segregated by material.
The most usual packaging collection system used in Catalonia is the yellow container.
The Waste Agency of Catalonia and Ecoembes have signed an agreement, which the local authorities join and receive resource according to the waste collected. |
