Types of batteries
Button cell batteries
  Button batteries

These are small button-shaped batteries and are used in small devices. They may contain mercury or lithium. Despite their size, they pollute more because they contain larger amounts of heavy metals.

Large batteries
  Batteries grans

These batteries are larger and are used in larger appliances. The most common are stick batteries and flatpack batteries (eg: saline or Leclanché batteries, alkaline batteries...). They contain fewer heavy metals but many more of them are produced.

Dry accumulators

Finally, we should not for dry accumulators. These are rechargeable batteries that can be used for a long time. The most usual type is nickel-cadmium.
