What should I do with the leftover or outdated medicines and packaging I have at home?
This waste requires specific selective collection, so you should never throw it into an ordinary refuse bin or mix it with other packaging or waste. You should put it in the containers provided in chemists’ that are in the collection scheme, identified by the logo on the left. As mentioned in the section Medicine waste management, the collection of medicines is managed by the SIGRE, which meets all costs. |

Go through your medicine cabinet regularly (at least twice a year), and take out any medicines that are out of date or that you no longer use, and take them with you next time you go to the chemist’s.
The best way to manage this waste it to avoid generating it.
Take medicine only when strictly necessary and as prescribed by a doctor. |
