- Infants and primary. CEUIP Castell Ciuro, in Molins de Rei, which has implemented a series of actions aiming to promote selective collection of waste generated at the school, such as food leftovers and cooking oils, toners, etc. Reuse is also promoted, as in the case of paper, textbooks, games, etc.
- ESO [Secondary school]. Escola Pia in Granollers, began the "Projecte Papereres" during the 2001-2002 school year, involving the making of wooden bins for inside the classrooms for the collection of various materials that can be made use of, particularly paper and cardboard. Periodically a selection is made from what has been collected: paper used on one side is used again, some of the paper is made into pulp and that which the school can’t use is disposed of in the blue containers in the street. So far this school year more than 600 kg of materials have been collected using 42 bins.
- Batxillerat [Voluntary secondary education]. IES Santa Coloma in Farners. Students have made an auditorium out of the waste generated at the school, and in relation to waste management they have proposed alternatives for both reducing waste and also for improving reuse and recycling.
- Special mention. Zona d'Escolarització Rural L'Aglà, in El Priorat, which provides infants and primary education. Awareness has been raised among students of the waste problem through different workshops and activities (for example, assess the impact of the Rally Catalunya as it passes through these municipalities), the students have held a conference on the subject with the town's residents, and the school promotes selective waste collection.

- Reduction and Prevention. Sabadell Town Council, which has created a mobile information point on waste and responsible consumption. This service functions as a key piece in the complete campaign run by the council on this topic.
- Selective waste collection and recycling. Sant Bartomeu del Grau Council, which has made a substantial investment in utilising waste: this is a municipality with just over 1,000 inhabitants and there are 11 selective waste collection points and 10 composting plants.
- Two special mentions:
- L'Alt Empordà Regional Council, which is carrying out a project to create a digital guide to waste prevention, once completed this will be published on the Council web site and will be accessible to everyone.
- Matadepera Council, which in May last year introduced a door-to-door selective waste collection system throughout the municipality and has achieved spectacular results exceeding 80% of waste selectively collected. This success is very much due to communication campaigns that have been reinforced through the work plan for a group of people with difficulties reintegrating into the workforce - women of more than 45 years of age. Two women in this age group have been employed to provide information and answer queries about the different selective collections.
