For several years the Waste Agency of Catalonia has been distributing cardboard bins to various organisations (schools, universities, etc) so that they can perform selective paper and cardboard collection on site. A new service this year will be the distribution of bins for the selective collection of light packaging.
If you would like to receive bins for selective collection of paper and cardboard and/or light packaging the procedure is as follows:
- Firstly, fill out the order form that can be found in the SDR area. Once it is completed, the system will send an e-mail with an attached PDF file which contains your application to provide you with a record of it. (It is essential that you give a correct e-mail address so that this step can be carried out).
- Secondly, the ARC will review your application and you will receive another e-mail indicating whether it has been accepted or not. If it has been accepted then the e-mail will have a delivery slip which you will need to pick up the bins.
- Thirdly, you will have 20 days (including weekends and holidays) to pick up the bins from the address shown in the e-mail. If you do not collect the bins within this time then you order will be cancelled.
This procedure should not be used by organisations outside the Barcelona area which require fewer than 15 bins. These organisations should directly contact the Department of the Environment and Housing’s Territorial Services.
