Along with collection centres, other types of waste drop-off points have emerged, although they do not share the essential feature common to collection centres and mini-collection centres: a permanent attendant on duty during opening hours. Markets: these are small drop-off areas in municipal markets to make it easier for the public to carry out selective collection.
Rural areas or housing developments: these are mostly for vegetable and bulky waste, which some towns – usually rural – have made available. They are simple installations, often a fenced-off area where refuse can be dropped to make municipal collection easier. |
