Collection systems

We distinguish between types of selective collection according to the waste inflow and sorting system. Broadly speaking, we differentiate between collection in surface containers (pavement and drop-off point), collection in buried containers, door-to-door collection and pneumatic collection.

Each system has its advantages and drawbacks depending on the urban context in which it is applied.
Surface containers

Selective collection on pavements or at drop-off points by means of containers on pavements or at the side of roads.
Buried containers
 

Selective collection at buried drop-off points where only the drop box is visible.
Door-to-door collection

Selective collection door-to-door means leaving out waste for municipal collectors on given days and at given times for each waste fraction.
Pneumatic collection

Collection via an underground network of chutes with boxes above ground into which the waste is dropped and then conveyed by centralised vacuum mechanisms.
