The Minimum Waste model or wet/dry model is based on the selective collection of four fractions: organic, paper-cardboard, glass and inorganic fraction (light packaging and non-segregated fraction - materials that have not been segregated).
The inorganic fraction goes to sorting plants that recover packaging and other reusable fractions.
The non-segregation of packaging at source means that it all ends up at the sorting plant, therefore reaching a higher level of recovery, although of inferior quality, due to their mixing with other waste types. |
