The criteria for sealing the container and draining the lixiviats are to avoid leakage.
As the surface of the basin is occupied, it will have to be closed.
The stability of the landfill must be certified by the corresponding calculations.
Controlled landfills must be provided with the following infrastructure:
- 1. Inspection well
- 2. Perimeter bank
- 3. Rainwater decanting basin
- 4. Lixiviat storage basin
- 5. Waste contention walls
- 6. Piezometric network controlling underground waters
- 7. Fermentation gas collection and evacuation
- 8. Perimeter enclosure
- 9. Control and reception hut
- 10. Vehicle and maintenance store
The lixiviats are collected, evacuated from the landfill and will be treated as planned
A network of chimneys will be provided for collecting and evacuating the fermentation gases or biogas.
At the end of their useful life, all installations of these characteristics will have to undergo a period of post-closure management, in which a whole series of parameters related to the landfill will be controlled |
