| Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, thanks to its technical properties plastic became a material widespread and widely used in our society.
When it becomes waste, recycling is considered a good management alternative as it contributes, on the one hand, to reducing the consumption of non renewable resources and, on the other, to reducing the management of this waste as refuse in controlled landfills and incinerators.
There are two categories of plastic: thermoplastics and thermostable plastics. The first category, thermoplastics, are recyclable and can therefore be subject to recycling. However, the recycling of different kinds of plastic will depend on different factors such as the quantity and quality of the material, the available technology, etc.
