Award 2003 "Design for recycling: recycled/recyclable product"
On the past 12th March, in the International Energy and Environment Exhibition (Saló Internacional de l'Energia i del Medi Ambient) ECOMED POLLUTEC, Minister Espadaler presided the award ceremony of the second edition of «Design for recycling: recycled/recyclable product» given by the Centre català del reciclatge (CCR) of the Agència de Residus de Catalunya of the Department of the Environment (now Environment and Housing) of the Generalitat, Government of Catalonia. The ceremony, presided by the Rt. Hon. Minister for the Environment, Ramon Espadaler, was attended by members of the jury such as Mr. Joan Ras, president of the International Energy and Environment Exhibition (Saló Internacional de l'Energia i del Medi Ambient) ECOMED-POLLUTEC, and Mr. Ramon Tella, director of the Junta de Residus (now the Agència de Residus de Catalunya).
Mr. Joan Ras welcomed the more than 120 people attending.
The Minister for the Environment, Mr. Ramon Espadaler, gave the five winners (one in each category) the award and certificate of recognition, and also gave two special mentions.
At the closing ceremony, Minister Espadaler highlighted the importance of the award as public recognition of all the agents, industrial companies, research centres, professionals, students and institutions that have stood out through the integration of their products or projects, measures aimed at developing strategies both to use secondary materials and recycle materials at the end of their useful life.
Likewise, he highlighted and expressed thanks that the second edition had had the support and collaboration of entities representing the world of design and the environment, such as the Associació de Disseny Industrial del Foment de les Arts Decoratives (ADI-FAD), Barcelona Centre de Disseny (BCD) and the Saló de l'Energia i del Medi Ambient (International Energy and Environment Exhibition) ECOMED POLLUTEC.
Finally, he noted that the presentation of the 41 candidatures in the edition had contributed to consolidating the «Design for recycling: recycled/recyclable product» award.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants were offered a glass of cava and invited to visit the display of the designs that had been candidates for the award «Design for recycling: recycled/recyclable product» 2003.
