On 12th April 2005, a collaboration
agreement was signed between the Agència de Residus de
Catalunya, the Catalan Fairs Federation (FEFIC) and the Autonomous
University of Barcelona (UAB), represented by the Institute of Environmental
Science and Technology (ICTA), in order to develop the instruments
and carry out the activities to enable the application of prevention
and recycling measures for trade fair waste and specifically:
- to undertake a characterisation study of the generation
and management of wastes produced at trade fairs in Catalonia
- to prepare and publish a guide to the prevention and
the recovery of waste at the trade fairs of Catalonia, according
to the guidelines of the Programme of Municipal Waste Management
in Catalonia (PROGREMIC) 2001-2006
- to carry out the dissemination and promotion of the application
of this guide to the trade fairs of Catalonia
- to organise different presentation seminars and training
for the agents representing trade fair venues on the application
of the guide
The GUIDE TO PREVENTION AND RECYCLING OF TRADE FAIR WASTE
IN CATALONIA was presented in October and November in the
four Catalan provinces.
