| Definitions |
 |
Electric and electronic appliances:
Appliances that need
electric current or electromagnetic fields
to work, destined for use with a nominal
voltage of not more than 1,000 V with alternating
current and 1,500 V with direct current,
and appliances necessary for generating,
transmitting and measuring said currents
and fields. Waste
from electric and electronic equipment
(WEEE):
electric and electronic equipment, its
materials, components, consumables and
sub-units thereof, from both private households
and professional uses, from the moment
they become waste.
Producer
of electric and electronic equipment:
Any individual or legal entity that, regardless
of sales technique,
- Manufactures and sells
electric and electronic equipment using
its own brand names.
- Places on the market,
using its own brand names, equipment
manufactured by third parties.
- Imports from or exports
to third countries.
Any distributor who sells
equipment that features the brand name
of its producer when this producer is
not entered on the National Register,
will be considered to be the producer
and liable as such for the obligations
established by legislation. |
