| Functions |
The Industrial Area develops the following functions:
- It runs and co-ordinates the action of the Agència de Residus de Catalunya in the development, nurturing and performance of the industrial waste management programmes, to be able to achieve the objectives required by current regulations.
- It works and collaborates in preparing waste management studies.
- It promotes the minimisation and evaluation of industrial waste.
- It evaluated projects of public and private waste management installations and projects of industrial waste producer installations.
- It controls and inspects the waste management activities and all industrial activities concerning the production and management of their waste.
- It performs operations of waste identification, analysis and characterisation.
- It technically controls and supervises the waste management plants promoted by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya.
- It promotes and controls the suitable treatment of contaminated soils.
- It supervises the emergency operations carried out by vehicles specialised in waste.
